And the China part, why China?
Well, my wife is second generation Chinese, and symbolically this trip represents a return to her roots. I am fascinated by the thought of discovering China, or bits of it, and telling you what I find there. Hitch a ride and I’ll share my thoughts and observations. It’s a cheap way to travel and you won’t even need a passport.
We’ll be starting in Hong Kong and moving North East to Fujian, then on to Taiwan, back to Shanghai, Nanjing Hefei, Huangshan, Wuhan, Zhangjiajie, Chonging, Chengdu, Xian, Luoyang, Pingyao and Beijing. If you just glossed over every one of those words, then don’t worry. I’ll be learning to pronounce them correctly for you (I hope!)
After Beijing, we’ll either take the train to Tibet or a plane to Thailand, then Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia if we’re lucky.
I haven’t been counting, but I bet we’ll still be short of 52 places
